Apply now for an absentee ballot

At any time you may request an absentee ballot to vote in the upcoming General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 4. However, ballots will not be sent to you until the appropriate time. You may download the request form from this site and send it or drop it off at the Logan County Board of Elections office located at 225 S. Main Street, Bellefontaine.
Write or go to the board of elections in your county and request an absentee ballot,
The following information is required to fill out the form:
- Your name and voting residence.
- The election for which you are requesting a ballot.
- The mailing address to which you want your ballot sent.
- Your signature.
- Date of Birth
- Form of Identification
Note: The absentee ballot request deadline is 3 p.m. on election day in the case
of medical emergencies. To be eligible under this provision, you must be confined in a
hospital because of a medical emergency. A close relative may deliver and return your
ballot if you so request and state the relatives name and relationship on the
application, or representatives of the board of elections can be requested to deliver the
ballot.
All voted absentee ballots must be received at the board office by 7:30 p.m. on
election day in order to be counted. Voters should request an absentee ballot as early as
possible in order to meet the return deadline.
Exception: Ballots mailed from out of the country will be counted if received by
the board up to 10 days after election day, if post-marked by election day.

Pavers for sale for new Bellefontaine Skatepark
- The Bellefontaine Rotary Club is conducting a Commemorative Campaign for the new Bellefontaine Skatepark to be located in Blue Jacket Park, Bellefontaine. This is your opportunity to contribute to the new park and leave a memorable impression for future generations. Pavers are $100 to $1,000 each. - Outdoor Festival: The Art and Science of Nature to coincide with the Champaign County Barn Quilt Tour. This outdoor festival on the grounds at Mac-A-Cheek Castle offers an art show, performances, hans-on workshops, nature tours and opportunities to participate in archaeology. The anticipated cost is free depending on grand funding and sponsorships. Time to be announced at a later date.

- Fall Festival and Balloon Lift Off. The festival is sponsored by the Indian Lake State Park and the ILDC. The Lift Off of Fall will be included in the Fall Festival in 2008. Ten to fifteen hot air balloons will lift off from Old Field Beach on September 20 (rain date Sunday, Sept. 21). Balloons are sponsored by local businesses. The balloons return to the lake in the evening for a "Balloon Glow" after dark at the Indian Lake State Park Campground.
