Anderson Ford Sales, Inc.
The Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize Anderson Ford Sales, Inc. as November’s Business/Entrepreneur of the Month.
Anderson Ford Sales, Inc. started business in 1972 by Wilson Anderson. After graduating from Lakeview High School, Mr. Anderson went directly to work for Ford Motor Company. In 1972 he purchased the Ford Dealership from Robert J. Smith in Lakeview, Ohio. In 1980 he purchased MacGillivray Motors dealership in Bellefontaine. This added the Lincoln and Mercury franchise to the Ford franchise already owned by Mr. Anderson.
Mr. Anderson has been a member of the Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce since 1980. “The Chamber has done a very good job at attracting new business and retaining local business,” said Mr. Anderson.
Mr. Anderson has a son, Mick, who joined the dealership in 1986. The dealership has a total of 15 employees. Two of the employees, Dick Hurst and Frank O’Rielley, have worked at the dealership when it was H.G. Short, MacGillivary Motors and now Anderson Ford. Dick has 60 years and Frank has 64 years. These two have to be the longest working employees at one dealership in the country.
In 1990 Mr. Anderson built a new facility at its current location of 2348 US Rt. 68, Bellefontaine, Ohio.
